There are some days when you wake up and know exactly what you’re going to wear and then some mornings where you can’t decide on anything and everything. It’s on days like this when I like to experiment and test the boundaries on our go to fashion rules.

On some of our fashion post we mention how it’s always nice to include repetitive shapes and patterns into our outfits of the day. Some people choose colors to coordinate their shoes and accessories too and others like to match shapes and patterns. All the above applies for us but on this particular outfit we decided to repeat patters. We’ve been wearing these black & white gingham trousers all summer and we love how it pairs with our matching black & white gingham bag. And we also decided to throw on this bright yellow top that has some interesting cut out shapes into it. From far away the textures on the yellow top blend in with the gingham so well.

There is no better way to spend my day in Singapore than wearing a warm vibrant yellow puffy sleeves top I paired this with a startling checkered pattern skirt.

To help complete the look I used a white torso belt to emphasize my waist line and a dashing pair of white sunnies to match. For some additional flair I am adding electric blue ankle boots with fringe and a matching clutch for more color!

A little tip: pair your patterned piece of clothing with a solid to make your pattern be the focus of your outfit.

It’s officially October and the winter fog is beginning to settle into town. But from the way our outfit looks you would think it’s still summer.

As we’ve discussed in a previous post, flowing maxi dresses are the perfect seasonal transition pieces. That little extra length in your dress can go a long way on a colder day. Not only that but a maxi dress is the perfect opportunity to play with some interesting accessories.

Belts are a great accessory to throw on for a little extra shape in our figure. Often times, wearing a belt will make your waist look smaller by giving you that flattering hourglass figure. Which is something that looks great when wearing a maxi dress! We really love how tough this belt looks but also how perfect it is in contrast to a feminine and flowing dress. We may be in between hot and cold seasons but it doesn’t mean we can’t find the right balance we need in our looks.
