This look is inspired by the 1960s Pop Art icons Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Who doesn’t like a comic book throwback? Plus, we’re all superheroes in our own ways so why not dress like it.

The summer is our favorite time to rock an all white look. Not only does it keep you cooler from the sun but also it looks refreshing. I decided to pair my Lichtenstein inspired top with a white mesh skirt, a straw bag and chunky platforms. And of course sunglasses, which is a must always!

I love how breathable these mesh bottoms are, such a fashion forward mash up of skirt and shorts. Also, I was never a casual sneakers and shoe type of gal but since trying the new platform trend that’s been taking over the fashion industry, my obsession for them is ever growing. They’re just so comfy! Sometimes trying new things outside your comfort zone can show so many new ways to get creative.

Life as a superhero can’t be easy but I must admit that it does give a much added opportunity to have fun with your outfits 🙂

Let your imagination run free! Its summer so take the moment to have fun, be playful and get creative! Wear a variety of bold colors, shapes and fabrics to your summer style. Whether you’re going out for a drive down the coast with some friends or just enjoying some refreshments by the pool in your own backyard, the possibilities are endless when the sun is out. So kickback and take it easy! You deserve it.

One of my favorite parts about summers style is being able to show a little leg. I love the chance to bring out a pair of lace shorts to wear. I particularly love these pair of bold green shorts because of the extra fringe detailing on the edges. It adds a little movement to my every step. Also, the open lace fabric adds an easy breezy comfort and breathability for some of the warmest days.

Another one of my favorite parts about summer style is being able to mix and match bright colors that really POP! Make sure to balance the rest of your look to fit those statement pieces well. Comfort and contrast is the core of every good summer outfit. So wear a solid white off the shoulder layered blouse and some understated but chunky platforms for contrast. I love the shape of this white blouse as it matches the movement of the shorts. I paired my look with some platforms that are so much fun to wear and one of the hottest trends this season!

They add the perfect height and are extra comfortable to wear on the go. I also threw on some playful accessories that are easy to mix and match. I decided on the stripe hat for some shade and I wore some statement earrings for some added texture with a bold red lip to match. And to tie the whole look together I threw in a fun strawberry straw purse as a little hit of how sweet the start of every season can be.

Get Golden!! Try wearing gold for a more dominate and more daring presence. There are distressed golds or even matte golds that you can piece into your looks. So don’t be afraid to work in different types of gold into your OOTD. It can be that fun and perfect ‘POP’ statement your outfit may need.

Though, its important to note, when incorporating gold and bold pieces, that there are warmer tones and colder tones to play with. Don’t be afraid to mix and match tones. But be sure to match the tone of the gold to blend with the rest of your outfit. There are some golds that are very sleek and shiny and some that are darker and more dull (like vintage antiques accessories). This difference in detail really sets the mood for the rest of your outfit.

Don’t limit yourself to getting that golden look from just one dress or accessory only. Have a mix and match attitude and approach to it by incorporating a range of colors into your look.

For example, a black brocade top layered with a gold shiny bustier and a pleated skirt can elevate your style to something very glamorous and modern but also classic and chic. But if glamour is too much for the occasion this look can easily be dressed down too! In that case, try wearing an understated black matte shoe for something more casual without having to give up that upscale style you’re trying to get. And for a more formal look, you can never go wrong with throwing on a pair of stilettos. There are so many ways to get that regal and golden look. So have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to combine different tones of gold and different material in your outfit to create a more fun and more artistic look.

This time I personally tried to avoid that shiny gold ‘party night’ look. So I picked a purse that blends with the style of the material in the rest of the outfit. The double tweed bag gives it that unique and gorgeous depth that’s sometimes is not easy to achieve in all outfits. I also threw on a huge broach as a statement piece and decided to incorporate not one but two cross body bags for a more hip, unexpected and layered look. Who says you can’t work in more than one bag into your outfit of the day? Especially these days, there is only so much a woman can juggle with two hands; it’ll be easy to fill 2 bags, right?
