New York City is the type of place that has its own hustle and flow. You can feel it in the streets and even on the rooftops of the skyscrapers. So today we roamed the city and embodied that energy with style.

The concrete jungle is mesmerizing but we thought it needed a little color. So we pulled together this bold yellow number and did a little sightseeing too. We love how 70s fashion is back in style so we really went for that look and pulled together some bold flared trousers and a flowy white top. And because the tops and bottoms have so much shape we decided on solid colors and tried to stay away from any loud patterns and florals.

Although we went with minimal accessories we still needed a small statement pieces, so we thought to throw on a checkered bandana. I think it goes perfectly with the straw hat. Together they add an element of casual cool to this look.

It’s nice to show some shoulder and I love a nice crop top on a summers day. Which is why here at Fashion Frequency we’re head over heels for all the new bare shoulder and ruffled sleeves trends. Its the best of both words!

We decided to style this look including one of our favorite tops to wear this season. The reason why we love this one most especially is because of how flattering it is to the figure. We love the bralette front of the top which compliments the figure and is extremely flattering if you’re little flat chested and need a much needed boost from some shapes. The sleeves have the most fun and flirty ruffles. And they even match the ruffles along the side seam of the gingham pants. Don’t be afraid to wear some loud pants if you’re wearing quiet accessories or a solid top. It’s all about finding the perfect contrast and balance.

New York City street style has taught me that a casual T-Shirt paired with the right pieces can be chic and fashionable too. So for this outfit post we’re playing up a simple tee into something fashion forward. Here at Fashion Frequency we’re not really jeans and a t-shirt type of gals. But we thought to try the look out in our own way.

We love the look of this moto denim skirt and tulle overlay detail. It’s so edgy but also fun to wear. So we paired the look with a comfy black t-shirt and threw on a red belt to match our carry on clutch. And just like that we went from casual to chic. We might not be jeans and a t-shirt type of gals but you couldn’t tell from how well we play dress up.
