Wearing bright and solid colors can be hard because not everyone feels comfortable with the way it complements their figure. But we all need a little color in our life and just because its intimidating doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Here are a couple tips to live by.

Horizontal line will always make you look wider but vertical lines can help make us appear more slimmer and taller. We styled this look with a color blocking top that has flattering vertical lines. The bold front zipper gives the look some length, even with a high wasted skirt which can make us look shorter.

Giving ourselves some length by the skirts and pants we choose also help make us appear tall. Which is why we chose a high wasted maxi dress because the length of the skirt makes our legs look tall, long and lean. But note that the length of the skirt also determine the kind of shoes we should wear to maximize the effect. If the bottom of the skirt hits the floor, put on a pair of heels. If the skirt is just floating above the floor, flats for comfort work well too. Combinations and possibilities are endless, you just gotta know how to work with what you have.

I can’t get all these new accessory trends out of my mind. I love a good statement piece to bring a pop to my look. But I especially adore the look this loud floral strap adds to my outfit. Inspired by the guitar straps Rock and Roll icons use on stage, brands like Fendi and Rebecca Minkoff have been sending these decorative pieces down the runway by the numbers.

I paired my bold leather bag strap with some more floral accessories and a fringe pencil skirt. Sometimes mixing and matching classic patters like these wool plaid bottoms gives you more room to accessorize with other pieces. I can never turn down an opportunity to accessories more

We are all about showing a little flare here at Fashion Frequency. We love bold flowing shapes that flatter our figure, I mean, who doesn’t right? Which is why we’ve been rocking flared trousers and bell bottoms all summer long. Not only that but they’re super comfortable to wear!

Flared trousers can be a little intimidating to style only because they’re so loud and are so attention grabbing. But there are so many ways to style a pair of bell bottoms, whether you’re craving the attention or not. A pair of flared trousers are so versatile that you could also keep it simple and throw on a t-shirt with it. But, you guys know we’re not shy when it comes to fashion so we thought we’d pair these geometric trousers with a contrasting floral bustier. Some would keep floral accents away from designs with sharp lines as they usually clash, but here at fashion frequency we love the contrast.
