We’ve had our fun with the color blocking and monochromatic outfits in the past. But lately we’re about mixing prints and textures all in one look. Which sounds kind of intense…but you’ll be surprised of the beauty you’ll find in the madness.

Mixing and matching textures is a tough task. Sometimes too much texture can really make an outfit look heavy. That being said we decided to balance out the different materials in this look by throwing in black and white patterns. What otherwise would sounds like a messy outfit is instead actually quite balanced when paired and worn together.

Corresponding and matching accessories don’t have to take the backseat of your daily outfits. Who says you can’t pair strong details with other strong accessories?? All that means is an even stronger look.

How can we execute the perfect “color block”? It’s a well-known styling and designing tool used by the biggest brands. Color blocking can really up your style game to the next level. You don’t need designer threads to get the look either. All you need is a little imagination. Here are some tips:

Taking colors that are opposites on the color wheel and then creatively paring them together to make interesting combinations is a fun way to achieve this look. You can also try different tones of orange and yellow versions to create a warm color scheme (also known as Analogous colors) to make geometric designs look sharper. If you are not familiar with analogous colors, it’s the color schemes that use three adjacent color on the color wheel. The more colors to pair the more accessories you can add to you look.

Happy styling!!

Metallic colors can be intimidating to approach, especially when it comes to dressing. But the secret is that metallic can go with everything. Just take this outfit post as proof!

We thought we’d pair this very bold metallic purple skirt with a contrasting black & white blouse and accessories. The black and white blouse with the purple skirt hold each other well. They are both bold and strong pieces in the outfit but do not overpower each other. And to pull the outfit together we thought to throw on a simple pair of high ankle boot heels and socks! But regardless of whether this skirt were metallic purple or metallic pink and gold or silver, it still would look great with a t shirt or well designed blouse.
