Get Golden!! Try wearing gold for a more dominate and more daring presence. There are distressed golds or even matte golds that you can piece into your looks. So don’t be afraid to work in different types of gold into your OOTD. It can be that fun and perfect ‘POP’ statement your outfit may need.

Though, its important to note, when incorporating gold and bold pieces, that there are warmer tones and colder tones to play with. Don’t be afraid to mix and match tones. But be sure to match the tone of the gold to blend with the rest of your outfit. There are some golds that are very sleek and shiny and some that are darker and more dull (like vintage antiques accessories). This difference in detail really sets the mood for the rest of your outfit.

Don’t limit yourself to getting that golden look from just one dress or accessory only. Have a mix and match attitude and approach to it by incorporating a range of colors into your look.

For example, a black brocade top layered with a gold shiny bustier and a pleated skirt can elevate your style to something very glamorous and modern but also classic and chic. But if glamour is too much for the occasion this look can easily be dressed down too! In that case, try wearing an understated black matte shoe for something more casual without having to give up that upscale style you’re trying to get. And for a more formal look, you can never go wrong with throwing on a pair of stilettos. There are so many ways to get that regal and golden look. So have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to combine different tones of gold and different material in your outfit to create a more fun and more artistic look.

This time I personally tried to avoid that shiny gold ‘party night’ look. So I picked a purse that blends with the style of the material in the rest of the outfit. The double tweed bag gives it that unique and gorgeous depth that’s sometimes is not easy to achieve in all outfits. I also threw on a huge broach as a statement piece and decided to incorporate not one but two cross body bags for a more hip, unexpected and layered look. Who says you can’t work in more than one bag into your outfit of the day? Especially these days, there is only so much a woman can juggle with two hands; it’ll be easy to fill 2 bags, right?
